According to the saxophone folios published under his name in the 1920s,
it is indeed "Wiedoeft."

Subject: [ARSCLIST] Rudy Wiedoeft
What is the proper spelling of this famed saxophonist's name? He shows
up in lists and on line as Weidoft, Weidoeft, Wiedoft and Wiedoeft.
Are the record labels consistent about whatever the proper spelling
turns out to be?
I suspect it's Wiedoeft but there seems no consensus.
Spellcheck wants me to substitute "widest" or "weirdest." Hmmmm.
