Please join us on April 9, 2010 for the webcast of Replay, the Syracuse University Symposium on Sound Sampling, a day-long workshop that will explore, with the help of a panel of experts, the use of digital sampling and the re-use of recorded sound in musical innovation.
The distinguished panel listed below will participate in a series of structured conversations about the law, business, technology, theory, and culture of sampling recorded sound. The event will also feature a live demo of sampling from the Belfer Audio Archive.
The goal of REPLAY is to foster understanding of the myriad issues involved in sampling and to involve participants in developing best practices that can guide future use of recorded sound.
For additional details and to register for the webcast, visit the REPLAY website at http://sampling.syr.edu. There is still limited seating available for the live event in New York City. Please contact Kelley Parker at 315-443-5533 if you are interested in attending.
