We're also interested in hearing about other institutions' experience with
EAD + asset management systems -- particularly in cases in which some
digital content needs to be described at the item level. Is complete
item-level information carried and maintained in the finding aid, or in the
digital asset system, where it can be used and reused for other purposes?
Is it in both places, e.g., with metadata synchronization? If no
synchronization, which is the 'master' metadata record?
We're assuming that most digital content from our archival collections will
be housed in our Fedora-based asset management system, as will the
corresponding technical, rights, and structural metadata.
