NLS Operations Alert
no. 10-24
DATE : March 12, 2010
TO : Network Libraries
FROM : John Bryant, Head, Production Control Section
SUBJECT: Revised delivery-verification screens
The NLS Automation Section has revised the delivery-verification screens on the
www.loc.gov/pics web site in an effort to avoid confusion about how many books are
awaiting action.
Now when you log in to the web site, both the number of books awaiting action (shipped
during the past 120 days) and the number of books of that total that were shipped more
than 60 days ago and are eligible for reporting shortages will display next to the "book
delivery verification" link.
When the "book delivery verification" link is selected, the number of books awaiting
action will correspond to the number of titles that will display when you select the link
"display all books that are awaiting action shipped between: (0 and 120 days ago)," and
the number of books eligible for reporting shortages will correspond to the number of
titles that will display when you select the link "display all books that are awaiting action
shipped between: (60 and 120 days ago)."
