I am seeking assistance in appraising the value (or lack thereof) of the
residual parts of a large 78 collection. Most of the original collection
was donated around 1965 to the Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives. The
remaining volumes are now in my possession. The collection is made up of
approximately 246 volumes, mostly in good to excellent condition. The
collection runs just over 16 linear feet, including boxes. There are
several masters in the collection, and the collection is about 45%
foreign/55% domestic labels. I have a complete census of the collection
available in an excel spreadsheet.
Depending on the value of the collection, I will either sell it, donate it
or simply dump it. Several volumes have sentimental value, and I would like
to convert those and any items I sell or donate to MP3 for the estate's
beneficiaries.
While small, I do know that these albums represented rarities at the time of
the 1965 donation.
I would appreciate any help I can get.
