I responded to this thread earlier, but apparently my post did not make
it to the PCCLIST. I'll restate it here.
This is a complicated problem (the specific authority problem being
discussed). I had some ideas about how to satisfy everyone's needs and
follow Mike's idea within a particular framework, but it seemed that it
would require a rather lengthy explanation (and I'm a member of the "Get
'er done" school anyway). So, I have gone ahead and changed one of the
authority records (n2008056697) to see if it flies as an example, and
asked LC to delete the other (n86002004). Your [list] belief that the
author did make a conscious change of name-preference, by the way, seems
to make sense for a number of reasons.
