-serif">President Lincoln’s Cottage served as Abraham Lincoln’s=
family residence for a quarter of his presidency and is perhaps the most s=
ignificant historic site directly associated with his presidency aside from=
the White House. The Cottage is located on the grounds of the Soldier̵=
7;s Home in northwest <?xml:namespace prefix =3D st1 ns =3D "urn:schemas-mi=
crosoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st=3D"on"><st1:place w:st=3D"o=
n">Washington</st1:place></st1:State> and has recently been restored by the=
National Trust for Historic Preservation. It is now open to the public for=
the first time, giving Americans an intimate, never-before-seen view of Ab=
