Hello,
You are invited to the Program for Cooperative Cataloging
(PCC) Participants Meeting:
Sunday June 27, 2010
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Washington Convention Center-144A-C
Our guest speaker is: Ruth Fischer, PartnerR2 Consulting, LLC co-author of
"A Study of the North American MARC Records Marketplace"
Abstract
In January 2009, The Library of Congress retained R2 Consulting, LLC to
research and describe the current marketplace for cataloging records in
the MARC format, with primary focus on the economics of current practices,
including existing incentives and barriers to both contribution and
availability. Ruth Fischer, of R2 Consulting, will present an overview of
their discovery process, the information gathered, and their
interpretation of findings. There will be ample opportunity for audience
reactions, questions, and discussion. Please note: R2 does not represent
or speak for the Library of Congress.
Short bio: Ruth Fischer was born in Washington DC and lives now in
