Greetings fellow listmembers. A slightly off topic reach-out to our North American (?) members for a specific term I am not aware of!
We have a box of microfilm cartridges, not reels, but I don't know the correct term to identify them in order to check if we can acquire a special adaptor to read them or whether they are just archival only. They are not music orientated per se (some aviation related material) but might have some social elements (in flight entertainment, etc). Anyway that's not the issue.
I am familiar with the 16mm and 35mm microfilms but these are a sort of hard cartridge where you can see the microfilm inside. There is no manufacturer information to Google other than "Made in the U.S.A." and, of course, the content labels but it is about the size of an Ultrium LTO data cartridge but they are not the same. Dimensions are just under four inches square and one inch high. On the bottom are various openings, If I hold it so the film is visible it is on the left hand side, top right side is a mounting or feed hole and in the middle an indentation with a metal platter and four holes.
Could anyone tell me the type it would be known as so I can do the necessary searches !!
Thanks in advance, Darren
