Subject : Producer bar codes on retro titles
American Printing House for the Blind (APH) has received the contract to
duplicate and distribute retro titles on flash cartridges. Libraries
selected these titles in the special 2008 and 2009 retro copy allotment
cycles.
Because small quantities of some retro titles were requested, APH will use
a tracking method that requires adding bar codes to cartridges and mailing
containers. These new bar codes will appear below the author¢s name on the
cartridge and on the large braille label (sometimes called the "belly"
label) in the address-card slot. These bar codes are for the use of the
producer only and may be ignored.
