I find this news very, very interesting. You can't throw a dead cat in
certain neighborhoods in San Francisco (Haight, Mission, etc.) without
hitting an SL-1200. A quick news search brought this:
"As yet, Panasonic has not issued a statement on its web site about the
rumoured discontinuation, although when similar speculation arose last year,
it did issue a rebuttal. The company could not be immediately contacted."
