This may be of interest to anyone planning to attend the DCMI conference; note the mention of PREMIS near the end.

Subject: Invitation to Participate in the Workshop on 20th
Hi, All:
Some of you may remember that this community is over 8 years old initially started by John Kunze of University of California. The goal at that time was to evolve a Preservation Application profile. Over the last few years this community has been relatively inactive (including myself). However interest in Digital Preservation is growing.
On behalf of the DC_Preservation community and fellow coordinator Andrew Wilson, I would like to invite all of you to participate in the Workshop next week at DC2010, Pittsburgh, PA (20th October 9 to 10.30am). Since this being our community, I am proposing a straw-man agenda and would like to solicit your inputs.
Tentative Agenda:
1. Should we continue to have DC_Preservation Community? If so what should be our mission.
2. Initiatives to keep the community vibrant and relevant.
3. Our Work plan for 2011
a. In the past we identified one or two work items that is of interest to the community and work on these items to share at the next conference.
4. Sharing of Digital Preservation Project experience where DC has been used.
a. If time permits and you have an interest I would like to share how we implemented our Digital Preservation Project.
I would like to request volunteers to share their experience in using PREMIS with DC etc.
You may respond in this mailing list or send me an email at [log in to unmask]
Thanks and Regards
Raju
