The development of the new SRU spec is going on in OASIS.  OASIS has
rules about where conversations about their specs can happen.  Ray tries
hard to point you regularly at the products of the OASIS group (even
though that violates the OASIS rules).  That mailing list is where
conversations about the new specification should happen.  I only bled
that conversation over here to get your input on the current usage of
Scan.
