We'd like to solicit the Collective Wisdom on the topic of weeded material.
1) To what level of detail do you document what you weed from a collection?
2) Do you make this information accessible to patrons, or is it internal eyes only?
3) For those of you using EAD, do you include this information in the EAD? And if so, what element(s) do you use to encode it (e.g. <processinfo>) ?
We're pretty solid on material that gets sent to cataloging -- we put some boilerplate text in <separatedmaterial> (e.g. "Some items have been sent to cataloging, please refer to OPAC"), but the weeded stuff is a bit more of a question mark in my mind.
