Michael, I'll ignore the rest of your message as I am irrelevant to
you, mostly in the music world, not conferences, though I do record
talks, speeches, lectures, audiobooks and conferences professionally.
If clients want video, someone else will be doing camera, and the
only audio mixer I have ever owned with mic level out is a Shure
M-267, which I still carry for those times of need.
I like listening to people talk, I am deep into radio, but have
better things to do with my eyes while absorbing audio information
than watch their mouths move! No need to SEE them on a recording.
More NPR than CNN if you want an analogy...
