Yes, the logging versions (and there were many) of the C27x series can
play these.

The radio stations and loggers I'm familiar with used 15/32 which
allowed for slightly more than 24 hours on one 3600 foot reel of tape.
ABC-TV used 7" Maxell 3600' tapes on Dictaphone loggers (4 tracks) and
they were a mess with the very thin tape, the wow and flutter were
extremely high.

I forget, were you the person who was looking for the 5-track head a
while ago for logging tape recovery? Did you ever get that project
completed?
