Greetings,
I am bringing a general query to you all on behalf of a graduate student here at University of Wisconsin-Madison who is attempting to track down information about the editorial staff at British music trade journal Talking Machine News in the first few decades of the twentieth century. (I am not implying that any of you might have been regular readers of this publication during that time, of course.)
The student has found one source that identified Robert Poulter as the "manager" of the journal, but she has not found any other information about this individual. She has contacted several holding libraries with requests for assistance locating any published list of the editorial board, but it seems this journal did not include such information in its pages. A librarian at UC Santa Barbara told her that a few copies from 1909 list Leonard W. Livingston as the editor.
I know from consulting the list archives that on 6 Sept 2010 Pekka Gronow stated his research need to read through the entire run of this journal sometime in the future. Perhaps someone else has already been down this path and discovered who the people were behind the editorial views in Talking Machine News? I look forward to any and all assistance.
Thanking you,
Tom Caw
