I agree.
In 2011, we should be getting better sound than CD, on a more permanent
physical medium. Not poor sound on a CD-R or a hard drive.
I think Blu-Ray Audio might help, as each disc will hold several hours
of music, thus reducing manufacturing and inventory costs. A box of 17
CDs in envelopes can be replaced by a single disc.
Sales of Blu-Ray players seem to be going steadily up. No doubt Blu-Ray
drives will be standard in desktop computers soon.
