Transcription discs come in all flavors.
Instantanious soft coated surfaces which must be played with light weight arm and proper stylus, 2.5 mil minimum.
Vinyl pressed discs should be treated as you would vinyl lps. Light weight tone arm with at least a 2.5 mil stylus.
Vintage transcription discs can be pressed shellac just like old 78 rpm recordings, and are breakable.
There are numerous methods of cleaning discs which you will find in the ARSC archives.
Give us some particulars about the kind of transcriptions you wish to play / transfer and save to cd if that is your intent
