Hello,
If anyone is using HP 3964A or 3968A recorders for any archival
digitization, I have three available for the cost of shipping.
I have two 3964A which are 4-channel machines and both have "Direct"
channel cards
I have one 3968A which is an 8-channel machine with "FM" channel cards.
One of the 3964A machines is marked as "sterilized" which scares me that
it might have been autoclaved before it was surplused.
These all appear to be record-play machines. The caveat is I have
removed the heads for other purposes, so these are only really useful as
parts machines. They have received shipping damage coming to me, but the
internal workings/cards/etc. look to be undamaged. I have not even
powered them up. I was most interested in the 8-track 1/4-inch head
which, sadly, is staggered, not inline.
I also have a two-drive Racal WORDSAFE voice Logger RECORDER. While this
appears to be a RECORDER only, it may have parts that would be useful in
as a reproducer, like the VHS tape drives. It appears to have been used
for less than three years by a town in New York State.
I am afraid I will have to put these out at the curb a week from this
coming Wednesday if no one expresses interest in them. I just cannot use
up the storage space for this stuff.
Cheers,
Richard
