For some reason the Beatles tapes have never reached the same crazy prices. Perhaps it's a matter of the number of tapes that are in circulation? I can't recall seeing any of them selling for much more than $125.
Here's a link to their reel to reel releases. In my experience, the prices that's shown are on the high side (as in, what one might hope to sell them for). For example, you can almost always find a copy of "Abby Road" for under $60 and quite often for less than $40.
It appears that the price goes up with rarity.
