There are a few different pressings of this. The earliest has an autographed slipcase. Most are on a maroon Grand Award label, and in a box with a gold version of the famous Whiteman "Potato Head" from the Columbia Records label.
I had never heard of Brigade. It almost sounds like a budget label Enoch Light started.enochlight.com,or any of the web sites devoted to him have no mention of such a label.I have another group I can ask.
You probably saw this.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Award_Records

About five years ago,I downloaded a bunch of records,by Rudolph Ganz, who I was especially taken with.I have since found most of his records, although not the "Nell Gywnn" dances on Victor I wanted most of all.One record of his,I did find, was the Grieg "Holberg" Suite, with The "Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra",with commentary by Deems Taylor. This was first issued, and recorded for Pilotone Records,in 1946.

I found it on a Grand Award Lp from the 50s.My question, that I may have asked before, was what was the connection between Pilotone and Grand Award,or how did these recordings end up on this label?
What are the other Grand Award classical tiles, and who are they by?
BTW,Whiteman, never was a musician so aptly named, did a fake calypso record around the time the 50th anniversary record came out that's a real hoot.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] BRIGADE Records (White Plains NY)
I recently came across a BRIGADE RECORDS pressing of PAUL WHITEMAN 50th Anniversary 2-LP set. This was
issued by Grand Award. Looked for some info but found little, except they also issued some
Enoch Light material (Project 3).
Anyone know anything about BRIGADE - owners, years of operation, relationship with GA and PR3, etc. ??
Thanks!
Best wishes, Thomas.
