My copy is on 2 10" white label Mexican Columbia tests. No covers.

Subject: Re: [ARSCLIST] Trillblow, transcriptions and Sony Superscope
Everyone calm down - I'm not selling "Trillblow" or other transcriptions in
my collection. I was just making a little joke at the departed Steinweiss's
expense. (I do donate some transcriptions to Duke Library and other
institutions.)
According to Diehl, the story he heard was that the set was released as a
premium to Columbia dealers in 1947. I got mine from a former record store
owner at a flea market who had a roomful of overstock, promo and odd records
he had collected over the years - too bad he disappeared before I could grab
more of what he was selling.
I'd really like to know if anyone else has actually seen a copy of the
Thunderblow 78 set pressed by Columbia - I've never run into auctions or
listings for another copy.
Since we're on the topic of my collection...
Periodically, I clear out items that are of historical interest, but don't
have room for. As I mentioned, I donate them to institutions or trade with
other collectors that might want them.
I recently blocked out a group of materials to donate to Duke and one batch
they didn't want since it didn't fit what their collections.
It's a set of 20 seven inch stereo two-track 7.5 ips reel to reel tapes of
the syndicated radio series "Piano Immortals Play Again in Stereo",
representing 10 episodes in the series.
This was a show sponsored by Sony to promote the sale of stereo tape decks.
It consists of rare piano rolls of classical pieces by famous composers and
performers of the late 19th and early 20th century. Some of the recordings
were released commercially in the 1970s on lp, some weren't. These are from
the early run of the show, around 1965, and are the original syndication
tapes sent to stations, some with cue sheets.
If there's a library or archival collection interested in them, please let
me know, and I'll happily donate them to you if you're in the US.
Just email me privately for more info and a listing of the programs.
