The first time I ever heard of jitter, it was from an audiophile-type fellow who claimed it happened in cheap cables and at the junction between the plugs. But you couldn't hear it without "expensive speakers!" So much has been written in the intervening 20 years that it is less mysterious now, but still ephemeral if not paid attention to. I wonder if my old friend still thinks it happens between the output and the input... this was in DAT days, ancient history now!
Or are there various flavors of "intact" and "harm?"
