A little less explosive language is therapy good for all of us.
Having Beethoven 5 under copyright means that somebody has to pay somebody (not Beethoven) for the right to use it in a commercial, so you would still hear
it the right amount of money were involved.
What's troubling is that a copyright is being changed, slowly but surely, into a property right, so that heirs or owners, however distant from the original creator,
can make money, even though they had nothing 'creative' to do with the original work. Bad policy - but it can be realized it you know the right people (read, legislators)
