Always remember that the arsclist is not ARSC. ARSC does not "approve"
posted messages.
Also, in crude discourse, political opponents are often unfairly
characterized or lumped with unsavory groups. Think Joe McCarthy or how
often people are compared with Hitler. I urge everyone on this list to read
ARSC's copyright positions
http://www.arsc-audio.org/copyright-recommendations.html. A number of them
would bring intellectual property holders new revenue. (Those who really
care about these issues should read up a bit on Fair Use, too. It is not
merely for investment bankers and crooks. Under present law, it is only Fair
Use that makes most preservation legal in the US.)
Finally, Mr. Bono was dead when copyright extension became law. He
introduced legislation but his widow got it passed by both houses of
Congress.
