It's a tab.  3M made them.  You'll hve to find a bubch of old accessory
catalogs to get the product number anf the beginning word that makes it
specifically THAT.

Hi.  Can someone give me the term for the little bit of plastic that, if
pushed into a tape reel, holds the loose end a bit more stable.  I'm trying
to locate a source of these but the term eludes me and my attempts at
various keyword searches is yielding nearly everything except what I want !
