There was no need for splicing. None had ever occurred or was needed. The
devices were just small clips to secure tape-ends.

What I would like to know is if there is a way to reattach them,without professional splicing equipment?

Hi. Can someone give me the term for the little bit of plastic that, if pushed into a tape reel, holds the loose end a bit more stable. I'm trying to locate a source of these but the term eludes me and my attempts at various keyword searches is yielding nearly everything except what I want !
