I should have said - not possible via a machine based web interface. You could get the bulk metadata and query locally. However, given a known label the recommended syntax:
http://id.loc.gov/authorities/label/{term}
gave (from memory) only one result - no option to differentiate and get the URI for either the 'topical term' of the 'general subdivision' (whichever was required) where they shared a label.
Actually I note that this lookup syntax seems broken at the moment?
