So what's the skinny on cleaning Blue Amberols? I am familiar with some of
the products and techniques associated with cleaning wax cylinders, but
these of course are not wax, but a special celluloid compound. I assume
that you are not trying to get the plaster core wet, and I have read on the
UCSB site that you can whittle down the core a little to prevent the Blue
Amberol from getting stuck on the mandrel. But I don't know yet how to
render them clean and shiny.
