Hi James:
Try NJ Factory Service, Russ. He might be able to fix Teac consumer stuff. If not, he can tell you
if it can be fixed and who can do it.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] 1. Squeaky tape 2. TEAC in need of repair
Good morning, All.
I'm in the process of digitizing some open reel tapes. Some of the tape is ½ mil Mylar and it
SQUEAKS. Is there any kind of lubricant I can use to stop that? Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
Is there anyone out there who can repair a TEAC X-100R (bi-directional) 4-strack stereo tape deck?
It's a beauty, but the tape speed button does not work. It only plays at 7.5 and the torque
selector for small and large reel doesn't work. I can't tell in which setting that's stuck. If I
play the tape in forward the tape slips out of the guides, but if I play it in reverse it plays just
fine.
The thing weighs a ton so the cost of shipping will probably be a killer by itself, but is there
anyone out there who can repair those problems?
Regards,
Ben
