I'm sure KAUM and KLOL also sounded great with their stereo progressive rock format on your Sterling receiver! Their was a guy named "crash" on KLOL late at night. Worth listening to his play list on stereo headphones (Koss).
Roberts X field was nothing top be ashamed of. A relative had one of those in Ft. Worth hooked to a Sansui 3000 in 1970. Great sound!
At least KUHF's transmitter didn't get bombed off the air twice like KPFK's was.

The turntable was a BSR (Shure M-44 Cartridge), Sterling Electronics Receiver, and Sterling Electronics 3 way speaker cabinets with 15" bass speaker...no foam, corrugated surround...and I still use them! YES! Gad, I haven't thought of this stuff in years! Thanks for asking.
