Hey Art,
The Tommy Dorsey TWILIGHT is by his Clambake Seven small group, not the big
band. There is also a Benny Goodman live small group POWERHOUSE, but in that
case, all the musicians are playing instruments other than those they
usually played!

Subject: [ARSCLIST] 1930s big band versions of Raymond Scott compositions
Hi,
I'm hoping to ID some CD releases that contain HOT BIG BAND versions of
Twilight In Turkey, & or Powerhouse, & or The Toy Trumpet NOT performed by
any group led by their composer, Raymond Scott.
In addition to this criterion, I'd like to have it confirmed that the
digitizations haven't been loused up
with pseudo stereo, echo or reverb added, & or excessive noise suppression
resulting in tin can squeaks and boinks.
For Twilight, I've identified three: by Tommy Dorsey (Victor), Teddy Hill
(Bluebird) and Ambrose
(English recording issued on US Decca).
Thanks,
Art Shifrin
