Here we have an antique wax record blank. I have been told that it is for
an early Pathe recorder, but I don't know if this is correct. It is in good condition
and may be still usable on the right machine.
The record is very lightly grooved, I suppose to act as a path for the
cutting needle. It is made of wax over a heavier substrate like
bakelite or mortor. The inner material is not visable but it's heavy.
The record measures about 8 3/8" in diameter and 3/8" thick. The center
hole is also about 3/8" in diameter, which I think is a bit bigger than a standard record would have.
If you recognize the format of this record and the machine it is for then please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks! mike
