Good recommendations, but by all means skip the museum restaurants and walk about a half mile down Washington Avenue to Tom's Restaurant...a justly beloved neighborhood institution, great food, great service and iconic Brooklyn drink's like Egg Creams which they have served continuously since about 1936.
During the 1968 riots after the assassination of MLK, neighborhood residents formed a human chain in front of Tom's to protect it from the destruction that devastated the rest of the block for decades.
