they dry quite quickly. In my tried and true method for washing 78's in the sink, I give them a
final rinse with Pepsi Aquafina or any other reverse-osmosis (mineral-free) water (NOT Coke's Dasani
or Nestle's Pure Life, which have minerals added back) -- which is generally cheaper than distilled
water -- then place them in a standard dish drying rack until it's full. Then I pat dry each side
with a standard Target cotton dish towel, then do a final elbow-grease dry with the Sleeve City
lint-free cloth. The kind of 78's I'm usually working with are not like that Son House record
described by John Tefteller, so standard non-abrasive sponge and Ivory liquid, applied gently,
cleans out the grooves just fine. For a filthy record, I'd definitely invest in the 78 kit for my
VPI machine.
