GE actually tried their hand at "high end" components in the late 50s,and early 60s.I still regret passing up a pair of their components,a tuner and an integrated amp,I saw years ago at a pawn shop, for $15.00 for the pair.
The arms in the photo linked here, made me think of a General Electric phonograph I actually own.Model 118 in this ad.http://gogd.tjs-labs.com/show-picture?id=1134598037
This ad is for Christmas 1948.This model is one of those phonographs that had two speeds, and two arms, one for standard 78s,and one for those newfangled Lps.Such players were made for less than two years, and are now kind of hard to find.

I found a NOS GE stereo vr still in the box. Should I give it a try? Maybe put it on ebay for a cool Million? LOL
Is it worth anything?

This assembly also had an adjustable counterweight to set the stylus pressure. As I recall, the cartridge shell allowed for only two contacts, and hence it could not be made stereo or easily adapted thereto.
