Another poster noted that brackets are not used in the 670 field, and I'm aware that I don't usually (or ever) see them used with a guessed publication date, for example in the a subfield of the 670. E.G. Title..., 199- rather than [199-] I don't know why the brackets are not used and would appreciate a citation to the authority manual and an explanation of why brackets are not used.
