I hinted at that, too. While it's possible, I would guess this is a
cassette (he didn't say) but it appears to be from 1999 and it would be
hard to make a reel sound that bad in 1999 as all of the little "Mission
Impossible" reel recorders would most likely not be used (or functional)
by 1999.
This is, sadly, not too much worse than a LOT of oral histories on
cassettes that I get to transfer.
I hope the tape doesn't get damaged when flipping it. I just had a C120
that I think was recorded stretched because the pitch on the stretched
portion sounds right, but it's about 60% of the width it should be. GAK,
I hate C120s.
