Should have mentioned this earlier: The more rigid the stand, the greater
the coupling to earth. And earth vibrations are most foul! For two decades
I have used the Vibraplane atop a reasonably sturdy (but not "audiophile")
stand, with amazing results. Here's a thorough review:
