Steve Smolian wrote "This is a methodology for the future. Carl Haber
and his crew at the Lawrence Berkely National Lab developed the system
that Patrick uses. So does the Library of Congress. it's a great way to
overcome many of the limitations on problem recordings of various types. "
Maybe I am wrong, but I had been of the impression that the method had
been developed in Europe, at the Hochschule für Technik und Architektur
Freiburg (Ecole d'ingénieurs et d'architectes Fribourg) in Switzerland.
Has Berkeley copied them, or is this a case of parrallel inventions? I
have seen demonstrations of "Audio Visual" (as they call it) in Europe
on more than one occasion from the late 1990s, if memory serves me right.
