Dear colleagues,
CNEDA (Comisión de Normas Españolas de Descripción Archivística =
Commission on Spanish Standards of Archival Description), created by
the Spanish Ministry of Culture in 2007, has completed the final
document (18-06-2012) entitled "Conceptual model of archival
description and basic data requirements for descriptions of records,
agents and functions – Part 1:
entity types – Part 2: relationships" (= "Modelo conceptual de
descripción archivística y requisitos de datos básicos de las
descripciones de documentos de archivo, agentes y funciones – Parte 1:
tipos de entidad – Parte 2: relaciones"), accessible through the Web
page of this Commission:
http://www.mcu.es/archivos/MC/CNEDA/Documentos.html
This final document is the result of work done by CNEDA in part of the
first and second activity of NEDA-I Project, developed from October
2007 to the present.
CNEDA continues to work on the preparation of the third part of the
Conceptual model, aimed at identifying the attributes of three entity
types (records; agent; business) and the attributes of the
relationships between entities.
This Conceptual model will provide the basis for development of NEDA
(Normas Españolas de Descripción Archivística = Spanish Standards of
Archival Description), specifically the data structure and content
standards for descriptions of records, agents and functions (the main
objective of NEDA-I Project).
Any interested person or organization may submit by email to CNEDA
([log in to unmask]) their comments and suggestions on this effort.
Best regards,
Abelardo Santamaria,
Commission on Spanish Standards of Archival Description (CNEDA)
