Hi Vicky,
This looks an oversight in the mapping. We have updated the mapping <http://www.loc.gov/standards/mods/mods-mapping.html> and will be making the correction in the MARC to MODS 3.4 stylesheet today.
Thank you for your comment.
Best, Tracy

Subject: [MODS] Inclusion of MARC field 245$s in transformation stylesheet
Hello,
Are there any plans to include MARC field 245 subfield $s in the transformation stylesheet for MARCXML to MODS?
We are currently mapping a set of data for inclusion in our catalogue and are in two minds as to whether to place information regarding the version of
the videotape (e.g. transmission copy) in 245$s or a 500 note field. I've
converted a record which has $s in it but noticed that this is lost during transformation. We would need to retain this information in the MODS within METS and therefore if there are no plans to include the 245$s in the transformation then we would need to make sure that it is included in a 500 note field.
Thanks,
Vicky
