None that I can find unless it's buried somewhere in the MARC
documentation. The $s and $t definitions for each field tell us to
give a date--nothing about formatting or standard.

True. And I just came across a questionable-date format in an example
under the 375 $s on the MARC21 site.
But I don't want to rely on a single example as support for applying
EDTF date formats if the MARC and NACO documentation are both silent
on the matter. Plus, I don't think I've run into a real-world RDA
authority record containing anything other than an unvarnished
four-digit year for the 37x $s/$t.
