Well, there was a version by Dizzy Gillespie recorded in 1951 -- http://youtu.be/3F5hI4p5w4g And this Louis Jordan version, from 1949 (although the video claims 1946)

Not sure if these are anywhere close, but they are jazz versions of the song.
