There was a guy named Francis who was working on stereo just pre-war and 
again post-war. His system was bought by Decca, who employed one of his 
assistants, Roy Wallace, who engineered some of the early Decca stereos. 
Arthur Haddy writes about this in Audio Biographies, if I rememnber 
right. I've never come across any surviving material, though.
