Automatic colour correction is only reliable for continuous spectra. A
big peak in a fluorescent lamp could just hit the peak transmission of a
film dye, or just miss it; it could just hit the peak transmission of
the sensor's filter, or miss it.
Would you use a microphone with a very uneven response on the grounds
that the sound can easily be corrected by an equaliser?
I don't think it is a big problem, but I would prefer a light source
with a smooth spectrum if possible.
