On Thursday, September 20 , I received the following message from the
listserv at LOC to the in-box at [log in to unmask]:
<snip>
Thu, 20 Sep 2012 00:00:41
"You have been automatically removed from the ARSCLIST list (Association
for Recorded Sound Discussion List) as a result of repeated delivery
error reports from your mail system."
<snip>
I immediately opened a support ticket with iPage, the hosting company of my
website, and forwarded the email from ARSCLIST.
Meanwhile, considering the recent doubling of messages on the listserve, I
reapplied to the list and received no reply.
I then tried to view the listserve archives online only to discover that I
had been completely removed and had no access whatsoever.
I then created the mail box [log in to unmask] and applied again.
Again,........ nothing.
So, it would appear that my domain name has been banned by the automated
system at the LOC.
Here's the findings by the tech help team at iPage:
Hello,
From the bounce-back error message it appears that the email went through
too many different channels resulting in too many headers. Too many headers
could indicate a spammer or an email spoofer trying to drive through
someone else's mail system which caused the bounce-back. I suggest you to
contact the sender email admin to check the cause for so many hops.
If you have any further questions, please update the Support Console.
Sincerely,

I then opened an account at gmail, applied to the ARSCLIST and the
response was immediate.
At least, I can post this message which will be read by humans.
One of the main reasons I launched Baileyzone was to be able to manage my
personal and professional accounts in one place. I'm a busy guy and I don't
have the time (or inclination) to cruse various online email accounts like
gmail, hotmail, yahoo or others. The same goes for all of the social and
“professional” networking sites.
That said, don't expect to hear much from me on this list, if at all. I'm
sure that will be just fine with most.
The main reason for this long-winded post is to let those, who have also
been banned, know that to get back on the list, you will have to open an
entirely new account, possibly with a different ISP.
If you know someone who has been recently banned, please forward this email
privately.
Appologies to the list for the rant.
Bye,
Corey Bailey

Yes, I'm hoping everyone read my previous message on this.
Instructions are here http://www.arsc-audio.org/arsclist.html .
For now, it appears that resubscribing fixes things. I'm afraid we
won't have the problem sorted out until next week.

Regarding the listserv issues, Bryan Cornell at the Library of
Congress is contacting the IT dept. there to determine what the
problem is and to seek a solution.
