Opera fans on this list are probably well aware of this. Even for those not inclined toward opera
(definitely including me), this is a fascinating documentary. It focuses more on Decca's techniques
and workflow than on the music, although there are plenty of musical excerpts and an extensive
interview with Solti. It's also fascinating to see the Decca personnel in action, to put faces and
voices to names. Just about everyone shown in this documentary is now dead.

For opera fans, Decca has now reissued the Ring Cycle in a deluxe 17-disc package:

Decca-dent? Perhaps, but that is some really neat packaging! Also note the brand new remaster on the
audio.
