Hello Tyra,
From my measurements: currently available TDK D-60 tapes have better
magnetic coating evenness than Maxell UR-60 tapes.
Recorded level unevenness measured across the tape is 0.2 dB @ 400 Hz
typical for TDK D-60.
Recorded level unevenness measured along the tape is 0.5 dB @ 400 Hz
typical.
Maxell type I tapes (UR-60) have 0.8dB/1dB recorded level unevenness.
TDK tapes have lower drop-off ratio.
THD distortions are the same 0.7% but, IMD distortions are lower on TDK
D-60.
1.9% for TDK D-60, 3.8% for Maxell UR 60 (bias has been adjusted for minimum
distortion for each type of tape).
Hope it will help.
All the best from

Subject: [ARSCLIST] Seeking blank audiocassette recommendation
We've been asked to transfer a collection of audio content to cassettes.
Is there a particular recommended cassette tape type I should try to order
(assuming 60 min. tape length)?
Thanks,
